The AIMS Project

AIMS: Adapt. Inform. Mobilize. Secure.

An Evidence-Based Framework Rooted in Academic Research

Origins & Recognition

AIMS was developed by Sabrina Wicker at Texas Tech University through the Department of Homeland Security’s Invent2Prevent program, part of the CP3 initiative aimed at preventing targeted violence through strategic communication. Supported by a million-dollar sustainability grant, Wicker served as grant owner, overseeing the project’s design, funding, and implementation.

In 2022, the AIMS Crisis Prevention & Response Toolkit was presented at the national Invent2Prevent competition, where DHS and the McCain Institute recognized it as an exemplary model for crisis prevention through communication and social media. After the competition, Wicker continued AIMS as a personal passion project for over a year, expanding its impact beyond the university to strengthen community resilience.
